How it works

Three steps, and your child can be working through a topic within a few minutes.

Pick the stage and topic

Choose 11+, GCSE or A Level, then the topic your child is working on right now.

Watch, then practise

Each topic pairs a short teaching video with a worksheet, so the idea is used straight away rather than just watched.

Test with exam-style questions

Every topic ends with practice questions and full answers, so your child can see exactly where marks are won and lost.

Udgama, the tutor who makes every lesson on Elite Learners

Who teaches your child

My name is Udgama, and I am a specialist GCSE Maths tutor. My mission is simple: to take the stress out of maths for both you and your child.

I am an educator with 7 years of experience in tutoring, and I have developed a deep understanding of the current GCSE curriculum (AQA, Edexcel and OCR). I make every lesson on this site myself.

My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that every student can succeed in maths; they just need the right explanation. Often, students are not “bad at maths”. They simply have gaps in their foundational knowledge, or have been taught methods that don’t click with them. I pride myself on my ability to break down complex concepts into simple, logical steps that make sense to the individual student.

I provide a comprehensive suite of services designed to support your child at every stage of their GCSE journey. Every student is unique, and so is every lesson I teach. I do not use a “one-size-fits-all” script. What you get instead is:

1. Bespoke online tutoring

  • The initial assessment: before we begin, I conduct a diagnostic assessment to identify your child’s specific strengths and, more importantly, their “knowledge gaps”.
  • Tailored lesson plans: using this data, I create a personalised roadmap. If your child struggles with algebra but excels at geometry, we allocate time accordingly.
  • Targeted learning: we focus on the topics that will yield the highest marks, and the techniques needed to answer exam questions efficiently.

2. Specialised exam board mastery

The GCSE Maths exam is as much about technique as it is about knowledge. I provide specialised coaching for:

  • AQA, Edexcel and OCR: I make sure your child is familiar with the command words, question styles and mark schemes of their own exam board.
  • Calculator and non-calculator papers: we practise the distinct strategies each paper needs, so your child isn’t caught off guard on exam day.
  • Method marks: I teach students how to set out their working to pick up “method marks”, even if they get the final answer wrong.

3. Bridging the gap (Foundation and Higher tier)

Whether your child is aiming for a grade 5 in Foundation to secure a college place, or a top grade in Higher to go on to A Level Maths, I can help.

  • Foundation support: core number skills, and building the confidence to tackle worded problems.
  • Higher tier: stretching students to master algebraic proof, trigonometry and the multi-step problems that decide the top grades.

4. Homework support and revision strategy

I don’t just teach during the lesson; I equip your child for the week ahead.

  • Schoolwork help: if they are stuck on a specific homework task, we work through it together so they understand the “why”, not just the “how”.
  • Revision resources: past papers, topic-by-topic worksheets and my own bank of resources.
  • Study skills: I teach students how to revise maths effectively (active recall rather than passive reading).

5. Transparency and partnership with parents

  • Regular progress reports: you will never be left wondering how your child is doing. I send regular updates on attendance, topics covered and progress towards their target grade.
  • Direct communication: parents can message me between lessons with quick questions about homework or exam nerves.
  • Evening lessons: groups run on weekday evenings, to fit around school and your family’s routine.
  • A safe learning environment: lessons run on secure online platforms, so sessions stay focused and professional.

Why parents choose me

  • Patience and empathy: I understand maths anxiety. I create a low-pressure environment where it is safe to make mistakes, because that is how we learn.
  • Focused on achievement: while I focus on confidence, my ultimate goal is academic achievement, with a clear plan towards your child’s target grade.
  • Engaging lessons: no boring lectures. I use interactive whiteboards, visual aids and real-world examples to make maths relevant and interesting.

Let’s get started

The GCSE years fly by, and early help is key to reducing stress later on. Whether your child needs a confidence boost, is aiming for a top university, or just needs help passing, I am here to help.

Let’s turn “I can’t do maths” into “I just did maths.”

If You Want More

Everything above stays free. If your child needs someone in the room with them as well, I run small online GCSE maths groups — no more than 5 students, arranged by ability and tier.

  • Founding member price: £35 a lesson, held for the first year
  • A free trial lesson, with a diagnostic that finds the gaps
  • A term plan mapped to your child’s target grade
  • Homework marked with written feedback, not just a score
  • A progress report for you every half term, and a mock exam review
  • Taught by me personally, never passed to another tutor

Other stages and subjects are resources only for now. If you want a group opened for one of them, join the waiting list — it is how I decide what to run next.

GCSE Maths groups

Online groups of 3–5, placed by a short diagnostic in the free trial so every student in a group is working at a similar level on the same tier. Launch groups run Monday and Wednesday, 6:30pm–7:30pm, and Friday, 5pm–6pm.

Nothing is paid until a group and a time are confirmed.
